Tyshea Chambers

Tyshea Chambers is the daughter of Kimberly and Elton Chambers. Since a young age, Tyshea has always shown her love for others through acts of service. She is a kind soul who lives by the phrase, “love does not have boundaries.” When Tyshea turned 18, she raised her right hand and swore to serve and protect her country that she loves so dearly. Being in the Army has brought Tyshea so much joy and has allowed her to not only meet people of various backgrounds, but also do the unimaginable. A comfort zone no longer exists for her. Her love for her small town has always motivated her to be the best version of herself possible. When able, Tyshea faithfully volunteers at her local food bank and steadily extends her hand to help whenever and wherever it is needed.

Miss Fluvanna

Mariah Ashley Dulaney is a graduate of Fluvanna County High School.  She is a student at PVCC and Liberty University online.  Mariah enjoys singing, volunteering, swimming, playing lacrosse, spending time with friends and family, and lifeguarding during the summer.   Mariah is a Criminal Psychology major and plans to pursue a career as a Criminal Psychologist while working for the FBI.

Deanna roach

DeAnna Roach is 20 years old and a graduate of the United Christian Academy where she was an honor roll student and president of the class of 2019. Deanna is currently enrolled in the University of Arizona- Global Campus where she is pursuing a degree in Education Administration. Deanna loves athletics and her athletic achievements include winning the National Softball Champion in 2018, seven state softball championships, and being awarded MVP of the Basketball Tip-Off Tournament for 2 consecutive years. Deanna has also been a swim lesson instructor for disabled children. Deanna has been involved in many community service activities including, crocheting for nursing homes, participating in food bank and clothing drives, making care baskets, and sponsoring families at Christmas. Deanna’s hobbies include playing slow-pitch softball and piano, and reading.

Miss Louisa

Audrey Rose Allison is 19 years old, and a freshman at Virginia Tech majoring in Human, Foods, Nutrition, and Exercise. Upon completion of college she plans to apply to pharmacy school in hopes of becoming a compounding pharmacist. While in college Audrey volunteers at the Montgomery Animal Shelter and regularly donates her blood to the American Red Cross. Prior to and during her time as Miss Louisa, she volunteered as a junior EMT at the Holly Grove Volunteer Rescue Squad and was president for two consecutive terms. Even during the midst of the pandemic, Audrey was able to reach her community through helping at the Louisa food bank, Santa Council, and by delivering groceries to those in need with Resurrection Disaster Relief. Helen Keller said “alone we can do so little, together we can do so much”. Audrey finds this to be very true as she enjoys the connection she found within her community.

Miss Madison

Bethany Erin Powers is a 16-year-old sophomore at Madison County High School. She is enrolled in Blue Ridge Virtual Governor’s School and is an SLC representative for the class of 2024. She is a member of the Principal’s Cabinet, Jazz Band, and Sophomore Class Officers. In her free time she enjoys shopping, reading, singing karaoke, playing the piano and tenor saxophone, and spending time with her four siblings. Bethany plans to graduate from MCHS with honors then attend the University of Virginia or Virginia Tech and major in Biochemistry. Bethany’s dream is to attend medical school to become a family physician.

Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, Nelson County does not have a representative on the 2019 Dogwood Court.
